Lessons
We offer lessons for any level in Guitar, Voice, Horns, Piano, Drums, Bass, Strings, as well as beginning Banjo and Mandolin.
Edward Bridge and Kirsti Kaldro have been teaching voice and guitar lessons in the Park Slope community of Brooklyn, New York for over ten years. Now they have moved to Virginia with two new locations in their store in Christiansburg and their home in Blacksburg (Preston Forest), VA. Both Edward and Kirsti have classical training and perform as classical musicians, but have also performed many different styles and this gives them versatility as teachers. They both strive to give their students a firm foundation of classical technique, music theory and sight-reading ability, in each student's chosen style of music. Edward is a classical and a rock guitarist, and his students become well-rounded musicians. Kirsti sings classical repertoire (she and Edward perform together as a voice & guitar duet), but she focused on jazz and pop during her undergraduate training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, so she is experienced with technical issues that arise in various styles. Many of her students are singing actors and singer/songwriters.
Laura Cox is a Music Educator with teaching experience in Virginia public schools. She has taught out of her home studio for over nine years on various wind instruments. Laura is an accomplished baritone saxophonist, and performs regularly with local ensembles including the Blacksburg Community Band.
Ross Thompson is a Music Educator with teaching experience in Virginia public schools. He is a Trombonist, with teaching experience on Trumpet, F Horn, Baritone, and Tuba.
Paul Burges is a classical guitarist, electric bassist, and rock drummer. He received a bachelor's degree in music from Radford University, and held internships with several record labels. He teaches classical, electric, and acoustic guitar, electric bass, drumset, and beginning banjo. Because of his experience on these instruments, he often accompanies his students, creating a true musical experience. He also believes in playing along with recordings of the songs he teaches and encourages students to bring in their favorite albums.
Dr. Edith Carter is a violinist, and teaches the string instruments, including violin, viola, and cello. She has been teaching privately for over 20 years.
Ella Kromin is a pianist who teaches students of all ages.
Edward, Laura, Paul, Dr. Carter, Ella, and Ross teach students of all ages.
